New Plymouth artist Rebecca Beyer, shows her colourful paintings that tell numerous stories that take the viewer from an everyday scene to fantastic adventures.
Rebecca Beyer paints in a shed in the back garden.
She is interested in stories and storytelling, and her paintings often contain elements of these. Rebecca likes to paint her characters on journeys or at the start of an adventure. Her inspiration comes from curious things observed in real life, wonderful conversations and the imagery a great book can spark.
Rebecca has been fascinated to discover that her paintings tell people different stories to the ones she thinks of when making the pictures. This aspect of the observer collaborating in the art makes the process of creation even more interesting and worthwhile.
Rebecca has exhibited pieces in galleries previously, but this is her first solo exhibition.
